TIMES AND DIRECTIONS

A variety of ways to learn more about Christianity are offered at Saint Andrew's.  We hope that you will find a class that interests you.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION at 9:45 am on Sunday:

The adult class will begin study of the parables of Jesus on September 12, 2010, led by Fr. Rene.

A youth class (Gr. 9-12) will resume on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Youth classes (Gr. 4-5 and Gr. 6-8) use the David C. Cook series and will resume on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is offered to children ages 4-9.  The catechesis is based on the conviction that God and the child are in relationship and that the child has a deep need to experience and a special capacity to enjoy the presence of God.  The classes will resume on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

BIBLE STUDIES

Several Bible studies are offered at Saint Andrew's during the week in the parish hall. Both day and night classes are available. The Wednesday Bible Study is offered at 10:00 AM and again at 6:00 PM. Classes will resume on August 18, with the study of I & II Kings, led by Fr. Marx.

The Thursday Bible Study meets at 10:30 AM and is followed by Holy Eucharist at 11:30 AM.  Beginning August 19, Fr. Marx will lead a study of Maccabees from the Apocrypha.

A weekend offering is Bible 101 which meets on Saturday mornings at 7:30 AM. "Developing Christian Character" by R.C. Sproul, is based on the apostle Paul's teaching on the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5. Mark Partlow facilitates the class.

COMMUNION INSTRUCTION

Communion instruction is offered each August for children ages 7 and up. Whether children are waiting to take communion for the first time or have taken communion since they were very young, the goal of the classes is to nurture the children’s love of God’s greatest gift to us, His son Jesus Christ, and to deepen their faith as we explore the mystery of this holy sacrament. The children meet for two classes and make their own communion bread.
