Stephen Ministry (SM) is named for the martyr Stephen, one of the first laypeople commissioned by the apostles to perform acts of caring ministry (Acts 6). Stephen Ministry is available to all parishioners of Saint Andrew's and to the community at large. Anyone undergoing any kind of difficulty (i.e., job change, sickness, death of a loved one, marital or family problems) can request the services of Stephen Ministry. After an initial interview, he or she will then be assigned a Caregiver who will have a relationship with the Care Receiver for as long as needed. Care Receivers are visited weekly and prayed for daily. Our Stephen Ministers attend monthly supervision group meetings. Their motto is to listen and love, unconditionally as Christ did. If you or someone you know has a need for a Caregiver, contact Paula Wood.
