EPISCOPAL YOUTH COMMUNITY (EYC)

Exploring the Sunday Lectionary and Virginia Theological Seminary Youth Curriculum.  The middle and high school students will have a lectionary-based program that focuses on bringing the readings into the context of their lives, enabling them to think critically about issues by deepening their biblical knowledge and connection to God’s word.  Additionally, the group will utilize the Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) Youth Curriculum, an issues-based curriculum, to explore many of the complex issues they will face as they become adult members of the church and society.

EYC MISSION STATEMENT

Our goal as a youth group is to be an all-inclusive community of young believers who set an example for other Christians in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. (1 Tim 4:12)
The EYC group meets weekly to work and play together and to witness their faith in Christ to each other and to the community. The EYC is led by our wonderful youth minister, Julie Youngson, and our Associate Rector, Fr. Christian Senyoni.
